Food Donation for Senior Centers in Vega Baja: A Gesture of Solidarity for Our Elders
At Puerto Rico EcoPark, we firmly believe that the well-being of our community is essential, especially for those who need it most. In November 2023, in a collaborative effort with the Municipality of Vega Baja, organized by Joshua Hernandez, Vice-President of Puerto Rico Eco Park a significant food donation aimed at senior centers in the region. This initiative benefited over 400 elderly residents, who received fresh, nutritious food to support their health and quality of life.
The donation event took place at the iconic Teatro América in Vega Baja, a venue that has been home to many cultural and community events. Thanks to the collaboration between Puerto Rico EcoPark and Honorable Marcos Cruz, the mayor of Vega Baja, as well as the active participation of Puerto Rico Eco Park, a substantial amount of food was gathered and distributed to the senior centers throughout the municipality.
This effort reflected Puerto Rico EcoPark‘s ongoing commitment to the community. Joshua Hernández, the Vice President of our company, emphasized the importance of supporting the elderly during times of need. “As a company and as members of this community, we have a responsibility to care for and support our elders. They are an integral part of our society, and we must ensure they feel valued and supported,” said Joshua Hernández.
Joseph Hernández also highlighted the company’s commitment to the cause. “This is just the beginning of what we hope will be a series of efforts to support our community. Through initiatives like this, we can make a direct impact on the lives of those who need it most,” said Joseph Hernández.
Thanks to this collaboration, more than 400 elderly individuals in the Vega Baja community received food, helping to alleviate economic challenges for many and strengthen the bonds of solidarity in the region. This event was not only a generous act but also a reminder of the importance of taking care of the most vulnerable, particularly in times of crisis.
Puerto Rico EcoPark will continue to seek ways to get involved and support our community. We understand that collective action and social commitment are key to the well-being of everyone.
